Safeguarding

South Shore Academy is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils, regardless of age, origin, background, belief, or individual characteristics. We are committed to providing a caring, secure, and supportive environment built upon a culture of openness, collective responsibility, and our core academy values of Ambition, Purpose, and Achievement.

Safeguarding underpins every aspect of school life. By maintaining a safe, calm, and orderly environment where children can learn without disruption, we empower our pupils to build confidence, reach their full potential, and prepare for a bright future.

All staff play a vital role in keeping young people safe. Our teachers and support staff are always available to listen to any concerns a pupil may have, taking prompt and decisive action to ensure every child is supported effectively.

Wrap-Around Support

Alongside our high expectations and strong pastoral systems, pupils at South Shore Academy have access to dedicated, wrap-around support:

  • Dedicated Pupil Support Workers: Our non-teaching pastoral team is on hand throughout the school day to focus exclusively on pupil wellbeing and immediate support.

  • Specialist Services: Where additional help is needed, we work closely with inclusion specialists and partner agencies to provide tailored care.

  • Continuous Review: Our safeguarding practices and pastoral systems are reviewed continuously to ensure we respond effectively to modern challenges and the needs of our school community.
