Family Support & Pupil Wellbeing
At South Shore Academy, we take our responsibility for each pupil’s wellbeing with the utmost seriousness. From the moment they join our school community, pupils are supported by a dedicated pastoral network committed to nurturing their emotional, physical, and personal development.
Our core values—Ambition, Purpose, and Achievement—stand alongside a deep commitment to care and dignity, ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and empowered to succeed.
Dedicated Pastoral Support
To ensure pastoral care is always available, our dedicated Pupil Support Workers are non-teaching staff, allowing them to focus entirely on pupil wellbeing and guidance throughout the day.
-
Daily Presence: Support staff engage with pupils every day, providing a warm, structured, and reassuring presence during morning meetings, breaks, lunchtimes, and after school.
-
A Constant Point of Contact: For parents and carers, our pastoral team serves as the primary and most accessible point of contact for any updates, support, or concerns regarding their child’s wellbeing.
-
Building Character & Belonging: By providing strong routines, clear boundaries, and consistent encouragement, our team helps every pupil build resilience, develop positive relationships, and take pride in being part of Team SSA
